help diagnose this engine failure
i posted this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1420848 over in c3 regarding the failure of my engine. i believe the failure is simply a result of an excessively lean mixture, causing detonation. now here's the interesting thing. after removing both heads, this is what i've found. signs of significant detonation in cylinders 2,3,5 and 8 (obviously, being the worst) and little if any signs of detonation in cylinders 1,4,6 and 7. #1 and #7 show notable damage while #4 and #6 have virtually no signs. anyone want to venture a guess as to the reason why these cylinders show signs of such bad detonation?
