Just wondering what everyone likes. I think I have a lousy regulator. When you start it..it takes a little bit to crank. Pressure goes up when you turn the key, then goes right down. It stays up under load(Gauge tested) and after you shut the car off it goes down quickly also. It's an accel unit(4 years old). Should I replace it with another Accel? Or decide which one I ought to go with.
interesting... I've got a brand new accell regulator on my shelf. Gonna install it on my '90 someday... with it being bone stock I just don't see any reason to right now! Did you like the accell while it was working? Did the pressure you set it at stay constant or did you have to keep checking it?

Sure it's the regulator? Sounds like a leaking injector(s) to me. When you turn the key the fuel pump runs for a few seconds then shuts off until you crank the engine. The leaking after shutdown may be why it's hard to start, almost like it's flooding. Just some thoughts...
Back to basics... Jeff Kopp from Superior Chevrolet suggested just now that I might have gotten a bad pump. The other pump held pressure fine(priming and cruising also shut off)..just not under load. As soon as this one went in,it dropped off quickly once you shut it off and was tough to start. Good point.
