Help me decide
some detail about their manufacturing processes.
Ohio Crankshaft has had a good reputation for a long time... they are a smaller company that has a great product and are easy to deal with..
they are also one of the best companies in the US to have engine
repair work done.

And we have had some of the Ohio cranks in the shop that ustomers have brought in to balance and we have found that the polish them to size which does not leave a very flat journal one crank on the front main which is appox. 1 inch wide and there was .005 differance from one side to the other. And these cranks were on the extreem low side. They did take them back but the others they sent did still have some taper to them but were useable.
We use the Scat forged cranks on the street and stri engines we have built with zero problems as the journals were flat and to size and straight.
If your going to run NOS it maybe worth installing billet center caps or finding a block with 2482 caps on it.
Here is a link to a 383 we built with 195 AFR's and we have found that a well prepared of 906 Vortec heads made the same power.
