Any guesses on horsepower/torque or 1/4 mile times compared to the old setup? The cam is still very mild, but I have a pretty stout Crane cam at home to liven things up later on if need be. Opinions are appreciated

Glad to see you back! I could run some DD2000 numbers if you send me the cam card .050 valve event numbers. With those heads and intake system you could be making serious power. I just spent 4 days at the Las Vegas NHRA event. lots of Super stock and 9.90 S/G C-3 Vettes and other cars. I spent alot of time in the pits looking at what they were doing.
Weight X-fer is big deal. Most everyone carries the front tires past the 60 foot.
Super stock has both auto and manual tranny classes. I went from an 3500 stall and 4.11 rear to a 22 pound billet steel fly wheel. My Vette just goes now. Where as before the TQ multiplication of a TC was very touchy on burning the tires up and bad 60's. I wish I could have run my 427 before I broke the crank shaft in the 1/4.
I had actually really just got my carb and 5 speed act together when the motor went. So I had to install my 383 roller.
If you have the 1050 dialed in and make correct shifts points, your going to fly
For the life of me I can't remember much of the specs on the cam other than it was 250/250 duration @ .050". I'm kind of ticked that I didn't swap cams when I put the motor together because the 294S is really a very mild cam. The next cam will probably be another solid flat tappet (I love them) in the .630" lift range or maybe I'll just go for broke (literally) and go with a mechanical roller setup. I'm thinking I should easily be in the 11s with the new motor seeing as how I was knocking on the door with the old motor. Thanks

You could leave your set up the way it is and just use a little nitrous to get you down the track
I know I have a Crane solid flat tappet in my room that's pretty nice, I can't remember what cam I got from you. I think I'm just going to slap a solid roller cam in there and be done with it. I was thinking somewhere around 250-260 duration @ .050" and around .650"-.680" lift. I don't really want to venture down the path of nitrous...although I'm sure my motor can take a pretty big shot. I want to get a few passes with the 294S cam in there with the new setup to get me a baseline then I'm going to pull the cam. What do you you think?
