Default C4 - Anyone modified engine harness?

I have the MRII (mini ram II) on my combo, and the harness comes nowhere close to looking right with the factory shields, ect. Has anyone removed the factory holdowns from the harness and relocated the harness in the valley of the mini ram? I also have not used EGR and the air divertor system in some time, considering removing these leads at the same time. Believe that the EGR is disabled in the Formato programmed chip. Will removal of all the air divertor system set any codes? The computer system is still '87 GM.

Maybe it is just time to bite the bullit and go FelPro (wide band O2).

Thanks,

Aaron

The wire harness...you can remove the plastic covers off them that go on both sides and do as you wish with the wires...however,ya may need to use wireloom covers to protect them and make them look nice.I havent done his before but seen it done.I can imagine the mini ram and the wire harness covering doesnt look right on top of the engine.
I think thats one reason GM installed those plastic fuel rail covers on the LT1 motors and the like.It hides them well.

You can remove all the air diverter pieces..
I used 1/2 inch threaded pipe caps to block off the exhaust manifolds air injection valve..took the black air valve off and screwed the pipe caps in place.

However...on my 86, and may be similar to yours, theres a diverter valve/solenoid on the a/c bracket...I left that one piece on, and left it plugged in and the vacuum lines hooked up...took the rubber hoses off..

I did that because the vacuum line came off the FPR and attached here..that long thin piece of vacuum line that runs across the intake.I assumed it being plugged in the solenoid and it still gets the signal from the ecm to open or close, and my fuel pressure still works fine and not stuck like it cant recieve vaccum.
The wire harness at the air pump solenoid i left unplugged.

On that a.c bracket solenoid, I capped off one of the vacuum lines that i wasnt using anymore. So one hooks up, and the other is capped off.
That one(capped off) connected to the other diverter solenoid at the air pump and I didnt need it since I eliminated it.

I also removed the long air pipe to the catalytic converter as well.Capped it off at the converter.

Since you have the miniram,Im assuming they already have a port for a vacuum line for the afpr..if so, then all the air solenoids can come off and you hook up your own line to the afpr from the intake port where it can still get vacuum.
It wont set any codes either.

Hope this helps a little bit.

if you take your time you can REALLY make the harness lokk alot better with the Mini Ram.I got to take alot of my harness out due to running DFI in my car.Running the wires under the plenum would really clean up the appearnce of this combo.
Good Luck
