I just traded my Impala SS in to the dealer. I just realized when I was going through my garage that I did not return the PCM back to stock before taking it in. I know they can return the settings to stock but I'd like to sell the Power programmer and it can only reprogram one car at a time.
Does anyone know if this thing is useless untill it is connected to my car and returned to stock? Thanks!
Yes you have to use it to return your car to stock before it can be used on another car.. Just there way of making sure we dont buy just 1 and mail it around.
Yeah, I knew they had that figured out. I'll just have to hike back up to the dealership and see if they'll let me get back into my car to do this. Doh!
If they give you any trouble, explain to them that there scanner devices will not work corectly if you do not reinstall the original programming, that could lead to a problem for future buying and them
I'm sure they will "fix" your programmer if you can't make it back to your car.... for a fee of course, but i don't remember how much. They were always very helpful to me whenever I needed updates or whatever else I had in mind. :D
