My bro in law John(bowtie8) is running that cam 236-244. Its a good cam. The ramp are not as agressive as the extremem roller line like I am running.
I was running close to his 236-242 with lower adv durations som my ramp were very aggressive.
The 236-242 cam pulls great to 6800.
But I just noticed you have a 406. You may want to look into a bigger cam. the next step up from the 236-244 is a 242-248. What intake you running.
I have a miniram 383 and upped from the 236-242 to a 248-248 and have no regrets at all.
My new cam is the 242-248 extreme roller on a 112lsa . I just asked comp to grind the intake with the same lobe specs as the exhaust.
Solid vs. hydraulic a solid cam means it uses solid lifters hydraulic lifters use oil as a cushion (you dont have to adjust rockers hydraulic cams where as you have to constantly set valve lash on a solid) Roller vs. flat tappet is simple a roller tappet (or lifter, or follower)that has a roller on the end to reduce friction roller cams were introduced on lincon town cars around 84 for fuel economy but racers found that due to the reduced friction valve "float" was reduced also alllowing more radical cam lobes. Roller cams have been around for some time now. Prior to the town car I think our hero Zora expirimented with them.
