Vortec and a carb?
I see you can get a box to put your carb in. Has anyone seen a carbed engine with a vortec? I always like to dream of more ways to get more power. If I could keep it under the hood is plus too. How drivable do you think it would be? I mean would it wear out if I put a 1000 miles a year on it? My engie has most of the regular mods but only 041 iron heads. A blown engine has always interested me. What would the throttle response be like? How much would a street set up cost. Thanks

I've seen a 65 Mustang with a Vortec blower (centrifugal style) on it. It looked like it had a small flowmaster mounted up on top of the carb. It made about 450 RWHP with no problems except for a power valve that kept blowing out. He ran really small rear tires (225/50/15's) so he never really had to sweat a big parts breakeage. He couldn't get traction to save his life...lol
He wasn't running an intercoller but he should have been. Would have been a much better set up.
