dump piston replacement question
I lost a ring land on a piston and it chewed up a few other pistons.
Looking down the block bore they look flawless. actually look like the day I brought it home from the machine shop.
Can I simply replace the pistons/rings with exact part numbers and be very close to balanced, or will it just be a toss up?
I have plans to build a new 406 engine later for boost, and it seems almost a shame to scrap this 355 when all it needs are pistons and minor head repair.
Having 2 vettes and wanting more mods on the stock one is forcing me to be a little on the cheap side with this 355.

Match the weight of the new pistons to one of the old. There is no need to include the rings, nor is there any need to rebalance the engine, if the piston weights are matched.
