The small block 427's you see here use an aftermarket block based on a small block Chevy. Most small block parts will fit, though the small block 427's here use very little factory GM parts.
The biggest small block chevy built was a 400.
The big block 427 is physically larger than the small block and it was produced from GM . Factory Big block displacements were/are: 396, 402, 427, 454, 502 all of these use the same block with a few differences.
