I was wondering if someone could punch these engine specs into Desktop Dyno for me, I was curious as to the net/gross HP & TQ. Any thoughts and/or opinions are always welcome :)

Re: Thoughts On Engine Combination... (bence13_33)
Bence, can't do it without flow numbers for your heads :( Since you're talking about extensively modified stock heads with big valves, they could flow anything. Pick a stock head and I'll run it for you.
I really have no idea what heads to pick, I don't know what pair would be comparable to the pair that I have. I really need to get a book on Chevy heads....
Re: Thoughts On Engine Combination... (bence13_33)
I'm traveling this week so I can't get you the exact issue, but years ago Hot Rod magazine built that exact combo with several other versions thrown in. I want to say it was around 1990-93 or so but I'm just guessing. It had a picture of a orange Super Bee on the cover along with the whole issue being devoted to Supercars.
Anyway they ran that basic 10.0 long block ( but pocket ported open chamber oval ports) and ran several different cams from hydraulic flat tapppets and several solid rollers. The ran the 294S and the 306S and played with retarding them etc plus some intake swapping. The ran Weiand, Holley and Dart intakes. It seems like the ultimate combo made 570-580 hp. It was the Dart with a 300* solid roller. The others were in the mid 500 range. Overall it's one of the best articles I ever saw with lots of good data on all the combos. Actual dyno tests will give lots of curves that are much better than DD program.
Hopefully some one can tell you exactly which one it was. if not I can get ti for you but it won't be until the weekend.

I have the same Comp roller cam used in the article for sale. Please e-mail me if interested.
BTW I'll echo Jim's sentiments -- that article was the best engine development article, with test results, ever published by Car Craft. Unfortunately I cannot locate the article or I would post it here.
Your combination will make very good power -- in the low 500 HP range depending upon final head flow figures. Open headers???
Yea, I'll be running open headers (reverse flow mufflers are too restrictive) for the time being until I can scrape together $300 for the JCL Spiral Baffle Muffler Inserts :).
