Default Doing a engine swap.

Does anyone know of where I could get these parts from a camaro or C4 vette: Throttle cable, tranny cable, and cruise control. Plus I need the whole pulley drive as well. Everything else I have...
I have a '91 L-98 motor from a vette. I was looking for these parts maybe at a salvage yards in the DFW area and thought maybe someone could give me some pointers on what year to find some of this stuff and where to buy it.
Has anyone done something like this before?

I'd buy the cables new, they don't last forever (just look at the number of post's about stuck hoods over time).
as far as pulleys, that would be a good salvage yard job. I don't know about enterchanging from year to year or camaro.
you might check on underdrive pulleys (this could give you a idea about what works on what).

Got the pulleys drive from a Camaro TPI the other day now the problem is that the fuel connection fitting at the front of the TPI are in the way of the top bracket of the Alt. and the Alt. will be in the way of the fuel lines themselves any one know what to do about this?

on my 86 the fuel lines do run thru the middle of the A/C bracket. its a pain but thats stock. you could make new ones with AN fittings I guess. just remember it needs high pressure stuff.

Do you have a pic that I could look at?
And for that person that e mailed me on this swap, I have found the little things are making the biggest problems, like for instants the fuel lines. Just not a real big hassle just a problem that is there. But I just got a Long block assembly with TPI and blah blah, no accesories and the brackets, no harness, computer, or the other. Kind'a having to peice it together..... not that hard though to do just takes a little time........

Try Fosters Auto in Portland,Oregon. That's were I got most of my LT1 parts for my engine conversion. http://www.fosterauto.com/
or PH 1-800-547-4851. Ask for Vic in used parts.

Well I've almost have it all done except for the tranny. I bought a rebuild kit for it today and looking at doing it over the weekend or one day next week. Most the thing to switch it over was for both Vette and Camaro. But the $$$$ seems to be the thing like it was going out of style.
I could go ahead and put it in probably this weekend but a few bills will have to be paid before I can go any futher..... I'll try and get some pics going. You know the before and after shots.... later for now....

Youn can check with C4parts@hotmail.com or do a search on the "C4 For Sale" board for hotarsevette's posts. He lives in Dallas and has tracked down lots of parts for his 86.

I got my throttle cable from tabertouch.com; there catalog is online too.

Hope this helps.

Jake
