Is the bottom end.....crank...4 bolt main?...rods.....and pistons the same on a 85 vet L98 and a ZZ4 ? I under stand the pistons on a 85 L98 are forged, is that right ? I'm looking for some serious hp, should I buy a ZZ4 short block or use the L98.......Thanks.... I'm glad your there for help.
well I'm really reaching out there ..... but I need over 500hp ...no blower,no turbo....Ive got some dyno's of some over 500 hp 350 ci engines with some info on cam, heads, etc. can you make that kind of hp with out going carb ?
all these engines are carborated and keeping the hood original is a must. thanks for the reply. bert.
I think the ZZ4 comes with Hyper pistons. The 85 does have forged TRW pistons and 2 bolt mains. Of course you can get 500hp out of a 350, but you gotta push the limits of "streetablility". Additional cubes makes it a little easier to get there and still have decent street manmers...if that matters to you.
What about the early 86' motors, I have always thought and heard all Vette engines came with forged pistons until the LT1 when they started using Hyper.
