Default Head flow questions?

My question is this. I am running GM Fast Burns on my SBC. They are suposely 210cc. If I should elect to have them ported to increase their flow will I be still able to use the following other engine parts I currently am using.
650 Street Demon, 1 5/8 headers, and 2 1/2 dual exhaust? These are new items installed last year and I really don't want to upgrade them!
Your info on this subject would be greatly appreciated and will help with my decision!
Thanks,
Bud Snyder

What are the specs on your cam. If you are running a relatively mild street set up the heads are O.K. What kind of intake are you running :chevy

I would think that whatever you would gain on the top end you would lose on the bottom end. You have a relatively mild street set up. There is no doubt the motor would make more top end power, however the way your motor is put together I doubt you would spin it high enough to see much of an average differance over the power band. I would leave the heads alone. If you want more power get a small NOS set up. :chevy

69,
I agree with you 100% the more i think about the heads. I never gave what you said much thought, but you are definetly right.
The other consideration is that if you think about the initial cost of the heads and the additional cost to have them ported etc. you now have a total investment of over 3k in a set of Gm heads! Not a sound decision to say the least. They are just not worth the money.
I had thoughts of changing the valve springs at the same time as it seems that i am encountering valve float with that cam at 5,300 Rpms or so. If you think about what you said it would also be true that to rev to 6k and then shift at 6,500 vs. 5,800 the gain in performance would not be enough to warrant the abuse the engine would experience.
The bottom line was 300Hp whp with this engine and it appears that that is not really going to happen.
Thanks again for your help.
Bud

Those heads are OK. If the valvesprings aren't good that issue should be adressed. If you copy the Fastburn crate motor setup and use a HOT cam or similar 430+hp shouldn't be out of the question. At that point your carb and headers would be holding back any further progress. :)
