7/16" diameter pushrods, lash caps, solid roller cam, shaft rockers/tall valve and airconditioning .


Just wanted to know what it takes to be "in the club"

Motor is a sbc 427ci with afr 227cc heads 242/244 cam

You are almost there But I think you probably already know that your cam is kind of small. My original 427 sbc had the 242/248 comp cams XE. kind of mild

So I decided to do the custom billet with comp cams lobe profile book. I found that .050 durations are okay. But the .200 is where it shows how agressive the lift ramp is so I use a 4001 Intake lbe and a very agressive 4126 E

steel billet 4/7 swap firing order 248/250 @.50 .714/.686 lift 110 ground 4 degrees retarded.

When combined with a 5 speed and 11.7 compression it has a good power surge from anything over 3000 to over 7000. I used to run it to 7500 rpm, But that motor broke the crank shaft. So I bored that block and made it a 434 ci and set the rev limiter to 7000

Like anything when you get over 600 hp you start thinking about a blower and 800+ hp
