Default MSD distributor

Anyone have an idea whats causing the brown crud thats collecting inside my distributor? Could it be from moisture or ?

It appears to be rust. (Most reluctor rings are made of iron/mild steel compounds that are easily magnetized.) It appears there is rust on other steel components inside the distributor housing also.

You should be able to clean up the reluctor ring, shoot it with some WD-40, and be good to go. I would try to find the moisture source and eliminate it too.

What would the PCV system have anything to do with the distributor??

is like saying. the rear wheel is flat. so that is causing the rust in the distributor.
