The LS-1 Lives!
Thats right. I finally started her up last night. It fired right up and ran great for a few seconds. It looks as though it is shutting down on the VATs (Vehicle Anti Theft system). I hope it is something as simple as a loose wire.
I haven't installed the pipes yet, so she started on open headers. It wasn't as loud as I thought it would be, but then I didn't rev it up either. I will post some pics as soon as I can.

I think the used LS1's are an incredibly good deal. Aluminum block and inherently better heads & intake than 23 degree SBC. I've thought many times how crazy I must be to spend $1,500 on a set of AFR heads and $2000 on a cast iron block ..... when I could have bought a complete used LS1 with T56 for $3k-4k.
