Default Petronix "Flame Thrower"

As some of you may know, I am in need of a tune up. I am attempting to determine the parts to replace, the best place to have do the work and what brand parts to use.

At this point I have decided to replace fuel filter, coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter and pcv.

The mechanic I am dealing with at the local speed shop is suggesting the Petronix "Flame Thrower" ignition kit (Jegs part # 751-D8010) and Taylor spark plug wires.

I am not familiar with these brands and I need your input on their performance and quality.

My engine builder recommended the Petronix as well. I am not sure the advantages of this over say the MSD system other than a bit of a cost savings. I am hoping that owners of both speak up as well.

I have the Pertronix Ingitor2. I like it because it is hidden in your stock distributor. I prefer the consitency of the simple electronic control. There are no adjustments, as it is set for optimal performance.

I also have the Talyor 8mm wires; cut your own length is best. Very high qualitity and lots of colors, but black for me. These wires, with the Ignitor and coil ensure a stong and consistent spark, yet looks very stock.
