predator carburetor
Has anyone ever tried a predator carburetor? They look :cool: and I kind of like it because it is different. I have no plans of buying one, but I would like to know how good they are.

One of my friends had one back in the 80's. It was a great carb...If you had the bell crank to mount it sideways. Otherwise, it would cut out around corners. The variable venturi system was simple and elegant.

my friend has one on his 650 hp LS6 in a Camaro. it has a 500 shot of N20, so i guess they are quite versitile in terms of fuel metering. i bet if holley or edelbrock had bought out these guys, that they would be common place on rodded street/strip machines

many years ago my racing partner aquired one from somewhere. They really are a great idea. They work along the same lines as a constant vacuum (CV) carb that Honda and other higher performance motorcycles started using in the 80'ish time frame. It makes for very precise fuel metering. Then fuel injection and low hoods kind of did Preditors in. It was something like 900 cfm and it ran great on my small ci rear engine dragster
