Anyone had problems with combining a blower and a super ram?

I think AKS racing had one on his car for a while, then he switched over to the mini ram.
I havent seen him post in a while though. MAybe try a search for his name then shoot him and email.

There are several guys over on the Camaro forums running SuperRams with superchargers or turbos without any problems. One guy, GrapeApe, is making almost 900hp with a turbo setup and a SR.

No issue with running a SC with the SuperRam. The only issue I had was back in say 1990 when I had a huge N2O backfire and blew the lid off of one of them. This had nothing to do with the SR, but instead with the fact that I was using a timer vs the current best method of window switch. Switched to minimum RPM of 2800 and ran like that for years on a 350 in mid 11s. Ran the SR for several years with the P-600B before switching to a D-1. I still have the SR, but switched to a MRII to soften the bottom end (which it did not do). Picture can be seen under C-4 forced induction topic "Superram with Blower and Nitrous".

As for not being around much, I still read in the background, and interject when requested. I am still alive, just have had some other priorities.

Depends where you want your power band to be. Want some killer horsepower? go mini-ram with a highend duration/lift camshaft, correct gearing, and so on. Just want some power right away on the street? Go Super ram, build your car towards that.

SuperRam vs. MiniRam in a Sc application?

I really liked the SR on the 350, but was running a much more mild application. It utilized large heads (278 cfm at 0.550), large hydraulic roller (single pattern 224° @ 0.050, 0.566" lift), and mucho modded intake. Car made just over 500 RWHP.

New 408 utilizes a much modified MRII, large heads (AFR215CP, 308 cfm @ 0.600") solid roller cam (238/244 @ 0.050, 0.620/0.64+ lift). Car has made 634 RWHP at 5900 rpm. I have yet to push it to the 64-6500 RPM range, as I am not comfortable in the tune. I am looking at robbing the FAST system from another project for this. I think there is probably another 40-50 hp in the tune.

Each intake serves it's own purpose. I do not think that the SR would have fed the extra cubes well (even with the SC), plus I wanted to be able to turn the new motor past 6000 RPM easily, as I used high end pieces in the build. It would have been interesting to see what the MRII would have done on the old 350, maybe one day. I have a somewhat larger cube motor that I am finishing the parts for another project that is using something similar to the Force intake (basically a Chevy 18° intake with FI installed). This should be better than both others (SR or MRII) with regard to flow and fuel distribution.

Choose the intake that works best for the specific combo.

Hope this helps,
Aaron
