Default Q jet basics???

Fellas I have never owend a Q-jet?? The new car/engine has one on there. I am a little dissapointed in the way this car performs on the top end. It deffianetly is not my vette. I don't think the engine in my vette makes any power either but this one seems very strong untill the mid to top rpm's. I'll give a slight run down of my engine vs what I know about this engine
My350/ +.04 flat tops, 041 heads, CC280, performer, 650, headers 2.25 eh
2nd350/+.03 flat tops(?), 76cc heads slight bowl work, CC270, Qjet, performer, headers, 2.5"ehaust.
Both cars are manual trans with 3.73 rears. Mine has MSD, hers HEI.
The camaro seems really strong untill you mash it. It just seems like 1/2 a motor and yes I think I can hear the back barrels. It just seem to run out of steam right when mine takes off. I was wondering but have not had time to investigate anything. I will check the timing map but wondered about the performance of a Q-jet? Someone else mentioned fuel pressure?

Hi there....

A tuned Q-Jet is a performance carb. Flows of 750-795 CFM and gives decent economy. Go to the CORVETTEFAQ area for C3's and get a copy of Lars paper on Q-Jet tuning. If you have trouble e-mail him for a copy. Then rebuild it and tune it to run. Good luck.
