One other thing, it has a funny electricical plug that I hope I can get an adapeter for, or do I have to have my electrical outlet in the garage re-wired?
thanks!
It's probably 220 volt and that's what you will need to run into your garage before you can get it to start.
The Plug is probabily similar to that on a dryer I imagine. Anyways, be smart when choosing the tools. Essentials are impact wrench, Sears up here in Washington is currently having a sale on one for 80 bucks. It has 550 foot pounds of torque in a very compact unit so it actually fits in tight places. It's all about torque. Other than that just your a good high torque standard air rachet, "you need something strong otherwise you will end up using the impact wrench on everything. You want to find a line around 1/2 inch, to maintain good pressure. Do not use the coil yllow hose crap, the stuff gives off low pressure, and kinks, Just no good. But they came out with a new kind thats orange I believe which is a much better design. I found a DA sander is pretty handy, use it to buff and all. Well basically everything that can be done with air is better and worth having. I Just got mine about 6 months ago, it's probabily the best investment I have done in a very long time.
I just have some cheapo Campbell Hausfeld tools from Home Depot. I have a die grinder, ratchet, air chisel, impact gun (250 ft lb max), and a couple other things like a tire inflator. I use the die grinder, ratchet, tire inflator and impact gun a LOT when working on the car.
Also consider getting a drier for the line. Cleans out the condensation that builds up from compressing the air and keeps it out of your tools.
I have a professional grade hose that is a very pliable rubber. I had a smaller compressor that I used a hard rubber hos on and it seems to always be mangled. The good hose I use now is much better.
I personally like the Ingersol Rand 231 impact gun. I have had mine for 7 years without trouble. I also have a Die grnider/cut off wheel, 2 Air Rachets and blow gun and a cuple tire adapters.. I still need to hook up my filter though
