Default Modifying Intake for Port Injection

Have a SBC low profile Torker II single plane intake that I want to add port injectors.

Anyone have an experience doing this? How do you get everything lined up so the injectors are all the same and fuel rails go on?

Since this will be a one time conversion for me, wondering if this a DIY project, or something to send out to a shop? Can you recommend a shop?

Or, does anyone know of an intake for sale that is already modified?

There are lots of shops that will do EFI manifold conversions. A couple are: http://kevthompson.homestead.com/intakesEFI.html http://www.force-efi.com http://www.ptrsds.com/manifolds.html http://www.rancefi.com/ (is doing an 8-stack EFI conversion for me) http://www.classicgass.com/home.htm

Plus you can get many popular manifolds already for EFI such as http://www.weiand.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...M.html#ChevyFI

Personally, I don't think converting a manifold to EFI is a DIY project.

Not a DIY project, why not?

I know someone who did this the an LT4. A carb base conversion. They used a TB spacer I believe for the flange and a tube for the connectio from the flang to the TB. The throttle body was the single type used on the C5.

The guy who built it had done some welding is his past on dirt track cars.

It came out good. the DIST holes was used for a breather port as the LT4 has an opti.

It can be done at home, just needs extra care and time, and you have to be somewhat skilled welding aluminum.

He changed the intake over to get a little more toque out of it for AutoX, and it does move!

I don't think of it as a DIY project as the welding is fairly critical (so you don't warp the bumgs), you need carefull fixtures to locate the fuel rail mounts, and the angle of the bungs is critical to get the injectors aligned crrectly to the ports.

It's beyond my abilities anyway.
