I have 2001 vette, stock 350,350 horse, six speed, convertible, does re-chipping it really help much with power and speed also I have wheel hop really bad off the line. I got it used with really worn tires, thought that was the problem but put Michelins on it, it is better but still hoping, afraid I will break and axle or worse. This is my first vette so needing any help I can get. Of course I want to try the track with it.

In your case it would be reflashing. There are tuner kits or dyno tuning. There can be gains in both areas not 100hp, on a stock engine, rev and speed limiters can be altered. It's really a matter of what you want. With your wheel hop with or without traction control?
