Currently I have a 2000 corvette that i purchased and it has a 2008 LS3 6.2L Block with LS6 heads. I went to change the oil for the first time and it had a Auto Xtra oil filter on it. I went down to my local auto parts place and picked up a 2008 filter. Which was a K&N. I get back to put it on the car and the hole is too large. The Auto Xtra filter has a smaller hole. Now according to the book that hangs in the auto parts store The HP-1017 filter should work, as well as the Purolator filter which is PL12222. The purolator didn't work either. I've attached a few pictures below. I measured the opening of both filters and they are different (see below). Are the parts book off at the auto parts store? Or my setup requires a different sized oil filter? I've also included pictures of my oil filter and location. So far only the Auto Xtra filter has worked and the other ones will not work.
