UPP Fuel kits *read before purchasing*
UPP has been selling their fuel system kits as an upgrade, claiming it to be good for 1,400whp. At this time the kit costs $800, which is what I paid for it. I installed this kit about a year ago, while building my car. I was finally able to finish my build after going on orders for the military for 15 months, and a 6-month police academy. Dyno day is finally here.
After the second attempt at a tune (electrical issues with the first dyno date), my tuner could not figure out what was going on with the car. If you do your research, there have been many other people who have had trouble with this kit; nobody could find out why on the posts that I had read. My tuner traced the fueling issue to the fuel pressure regulator, which is sold with the UPP fuel kit.
The FPR is a Chinese knock-off of an Aeromotive FPR. It had failed. The fuel pressure would be different EVERY time the tuner did a pull, sometimes bottoming out to 0psi!!!

When the FPR was finally on its last leg I also found that the Hobbs switch had failed. The two components which help this system operate safely had failed..
So just to recap on this UPP c5 fuel kit..
- AEM 340lph pump (probably the only good thing in this kit)
- FAKE Aeromotive FPR
- Cheap Hobbs switch
- 24ish feet of stainless braided hose (is it even compatible with fuel???)
- Several -AN fittings and adapters
- A fuel filter
- $800
I just cannot believe that a reputable company would build a high horsepower fuel kit like this and include cheap or fake parts; and market it for the cost of genuine, quality parts people expect.
With that being said, genuine parts are en route for my third attempt at a tune!!
