ZZ4 Cam Scenario
So a 63 nova completely restored was bought probably 8 months ago. It ran, but rough so we got it running smoothly. We now want to start upgrading the car to be "street-strip-able." It's a ZZ4 with a built 700r4 and a 600cfm Edlebrock carb. Fuel Injection is on the list and so is a new cam. The only thing done to the motor is a cam swap. We had no idea what cam was in it until recently when we found the cam card. Keep in mind the stock ZZ4 cam is 208*/221* @ 0.050", .474"/.510". The cam card says 206*/206* @ 0.050", .500"/.500". My question is why would they put a smaller cam in and what is a recommended cam for a street-able, but aggressive ZZ4 block? May be brought to the strip every once in a while.
