Default Performance Cam Question

Hello all. I'm new to Corvettes and don't own one yet but I have a question.

I love the way a cammed Corvette sounds. I want to buy a base corvette and put an aggressive cam in it.I know the basics of engines as far as what replacing the cam does.

What else would I need to do to support the new cam?

Would it need to be tuned? If so, roughly how much does this cost?

I know it's silly but I'm trying to learn.

If you pick a cam that has mild lobes you can get the overlap that creates a rough idle without needing to upgrade valve springs. But if you're going through the trouble to swap cams you should consider stiffer valve springs, pushrods, and maybe lifters to support a more aggressive cam and get some extra power too.

Also, if you just want a rough idle, there are some things you can do with the tune to make any cam sound 'bigger' than it is, like reducing the idle speed, and screwing up the timing correction tables that the PCM uses to try to maintain a smooth idle. I see a lot of videos posted of less aggressive cams than mine that still idle rougher just because of the way they were tuned.
