I just saw an advertisement for a 5.3L (5328cc) all aluminum (block and heads) engine that was called an LS1. Searching the web all I could find was that it had a 96.01 X 92.00mm bore and stroke.
Is this basically a 327 and has anyone heard any performance numbers?
Thanks Duke, I appreciate the feedback. I knew there were two versions of the iron block (L59 and LM7), but the LS1 RPO on a 5.3L confused me.
I still haven't found anything out about how this block compares to the LS1 5.7L 350ci. I was hoping to find out if the 5.3 / 5.7 blocks were like the old 327 / 350 where cranks, cams and heads were interchangable.
The 5.3 325ci motor(iron version at least)is not as rev happy as the venerable 327.Fbody guys are using milled down versions of the aluminum heads.Ported polished they raise up compresion to 11.5-1 or 12.to 1.
