Default Need Advice on a 1957 Corvette Engine

I have a1957 Corvette Engine, Block 3849852, that has been sitting in a locked shed for many years. Appears to be re-built but no alternator, power steering pump, etc.

Many thanks to the people who posted on this thread earlier when it was in the "For Sale" section, especially Phil2302 for pointing out the year the engine was made and NoWhere Man for pointing out that having a two-barrel intake rules that part out of being from a Corvette and there is a stamp pad with stamped numbers that would ID the block. I mistakenly put it in the "For Sale" section and then the forum leaders rightly took it off.

This engine belonged to my late brother and I'm trying to see what it is and if it's worth selling to someone. Also, need to know how to price it.

The engine is located in Thomaston, AL.

@Lowreybf

Sorry, but that is not a Corvette engine and it is not from 1957. Block 3849852 is a truck block that started casting in 1963 and then later went into other Chevy's, so that 2 barrel intake is probably from this engine. Also, the Black Book states that all 283 in 1957 used casting 3731548. 1961 was the last year for the 283 in a Corvette, so this block was not yet in existence when Corvette went to the 327 in 1962. Value would only be for someone rebuilding a period car with a 2 barrel. Probably not much. Reference is below:
