Default Stud girdles??

Will any of the stud girdles work with the center bolt valve covers? Or do you have to adapt to the old style cover?

Thanks,
Dave

Not any I have seen. I also looked in a couple of catologs. I think the reason is center bolt type heads are not really used by people who are going to be running cams that bend screw in studs.

I imagin that you could machine a stud girdle to clear the center screws.

I agree with this, but at the last TCC event in Road Atlanta. One of the cars with a hot cam broke a stud. The RPMs can get out of hand when your both going for the same spot. I was just thinking a little extra insurance might help.

This is what I have. Kind of over kill unless your making a motor for 8000 rpm. This uses the 7/16th ARP studs of the grade higher. I think 200K PSI.

Have you considered larger studs? I know that this also means new rockers for the bigger diameter

This Crane stud G is the best IMO I'm also using the taller ARP studs with .200 over pushrods because the heads require .100 over valve length.

The only set I've seen are these: http://www.melroset-tops.com/race.ht...igid%20System"
Look at the "Rigid System"
I don't have any experience with them, though.

This new forum sucks for pictures! You have to go to my forum web page for a writeup on my little motor. I did the home page a couple of years ago and never did much with it.

I'm proud of my my little thing I built in my garage:)
