Default Stethoscope sounds

Hey. I’m posting this in this forum because im
hoping you guys will be a bit more niche towards very fine listening and tuning.

anyways. My question is, If any of you guys have used a stethoscope or like device to listen to engine internals?

im curious what a healthy engine bearing should sound like?

Is it just a smooth running metal sound? Almost like a roller skate?

or should it be literally soundless. Even with the stethoscope right there listening to it spin?

Engine bearing related to crankshaft and camshaft should be silent. The journals ride on a cushion of oil. Things like.oil and water pumps will hum. Valvetrain will have a uniform tapping or rattle.
Knocking, hammering type tap, growling, grinding.or whine fall under concerns
Listening to engines or components where there is no known concerns can give you a basis of what's normal.
