Default 327

Hi all I’m a long time reader and a first time poster here. I am looking at building a 327 10:1 compression aluminum heads hyd roller cam that will run on pump gas. I have 4:10 gears and a 4 speed transmission. I want more power than my current L-79. All power in by 6000 rpm. I am not interested in a stroker. Is this possible? Any suggestions on what heads and cam? Thanks J

Just seeing this. I restored a 68 with the L79. I went with dome pistons. With a .040 gasket, I'm right at 10.5:1. I have no problem with 93 octain. I converted to a hydronic roller cam. I'm running the rebuilt by Lars original Rochester Qudrajet. My motor dyno'd at 387hp and 407tq. So yes you will or can get close enough. I also run long tube Hooker Comp heaters, 2 1/2" dual exhaust. I installed the N11 off road optional mufflers. No drone at all. Nice idle. If I roll into the throttle the tone comes on nice but if I lay into it, the exhaust barks. I'm think of changing the mufflers to something a bit milder. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great. But being 64 at this point. I'm into causing and spirited driving. It sometimes attracts a bit of attention.

Forged pistons, less compression and a 100 hp NO2 shot will make it easy.

I'm using the original heads. I had the machine shop pocket port them. I'm install Speed Pro forged pistons. I used a Comp cam with comp magnum roller rockers. I'll look at my cam card to get you the specs. I am running 3:70 rear gears and installed a Tremec TKO600 5 speed.
