Default HP guess please (DD2000?)

Engine is on a stand ready to install, just waiting for new dampner springs for the heads to show up. I worked hard trying to match components and would love to see if I did good. Here's what's going in next week.

(1) 355 forged & balanced assy. 9.8-1 CR

(2) Sportsman II (64cc) iron heads

(3) Weiand Stealth dual plane intake

(4) Holly 650 DP

(5) Crane electronic points conversion

(6) Isky 270/280 Megacam (hyd). (#201271/281-12). Intake timing 270 deg ex 280 deg. intake lift .465 ex. .485, intake dur 221 ex. 232. 112 deg LC.

(7) Dynomax ceramic coated 1.5/8" headers into 2.5" true dual exhaust including Dynomax SuperTurbo muffs.

(8) Crane aluminum true roller rockers @ 1.5 ratio

(9) Just for fun I run a 100 shot of NOS, but I can add that to the DD2000 results all by myself...

(10) Thanks folks......

Hey Dave, I was trying to run that setup for you but I cannot find the cam card for that cam, Isky's site isn't opening for me, and I can not find a cam file for that cam either. Do you have the cam card. If so can you provide a little more info from it. I just need the IVO, IVC, EVO, and EVC. Right now just guesstimating the profile it's 375hp at 5500 rpm. 389 FT torque at 4500 rpm. Need the cam file to make everything accurate though.

The specs on that cam at .050 are intake: open -1.5 close 42.5 Exhaust: open 48 close 4

When you feel like experimenting you might want to try 1.6 roller rockers with this cam.

You might also run DD2000 with 4 degrees of advance and retard in addition to straight up.

383 HP @ 5500 RPM and 404 FT/lbs @ 4000 RPM with the exhaust, motor would put out 423 HP @ 6000 RPM and 421 FT/lbs @ 4500 RPM on an engine dyno with open exhaust. If you take it to a chassis dyno you will be close to 300 RWHP :D

Thanks gentlemen, the numbers were what I was hoping for. My goal was 400hp/400tq in a useable street rpm range. 300 RWHP is very nice and with the 4 spd Muncy and 3:70 posi it should snap your neck back quite nicely if I can find some traction somewhere. I will have side pipe cutouts on it also so a few more ponies are available when needed. Thanks again........

"Cutouts".... humm? That would be nice. ***** under dash? or get out and open? You wouldn't happen to have a pic of that setup would you? (I'm just trying to visualize the arrangement with side pipes). Brings back memories of jumping out and uncaping, just before a street races back in....... ~'65 :-)

Lemme see if I can 'splain' this to ya so you can see in your mind's eye. It's all gone now though due to the headers going on. Gonna have to tube it up again later.
I had the 2.5" rams horns with the exhaust going out the back. Where the pipes made their 90 deg. elbow at the starter area I T'd off a 6" long section of pipe and installed a standard 3 bolt flat header flange. My 2.5" non-baffeled open side pipe was installed in the factory location with a matching flat header flange welded at the fwd side. This matched up to the one installed to the 'T' and I just installed a block plate between them at that point. It is hidden out of the way so it doesn't look like the old 'Lakes pipes' of the 50's with their plates at the tip end. It's about a 10 minute job dropping out the plates.

Not sure how it's all going to lay out with headers, but right now it don't look good. There is a set of cutouts for around 200 bucks that is electric that I've been looking hard at. That would be cool, I'll letcha know.
