I was wondering what I would need to do to make 500 to 550 wheel horsepower with my 5.7 ls1, I was going to get a top end kit for 515hp but its on backorder until June and Id rather go for 550hp not 515hp. Any advice is great, thanks for the help!
I think it all about the heads and cam selection. Build a precise and excellent bottom end. Buy excellent heads and choose a cam that will rev to what you need for 550 hp. Ther should be lots of videos and articles to meet your specs.
Forced induction is the easiest way. If you want to go NA then a good set of after market heads,a 23x/23x 0.6xx/0.6xx cam with matching springs/rods and upgraded rockers/lifters should get you close.

Not going to make 550 NA with the stock displacement. For anything you can drive on the street that is 400-427ci territory.
5.7 would need good ported heads, cam, long tubes , fast intake and TB and a good tune 440-470 max
A&A supercharger kit will make that number, but there isn’t a top end kit someone is selling snake oil.
