I'm getting ready to order a set of AFR195s or 210s. Talking with David at Diabolical Performance, he said the 227s he bought didn't come with water ports for temp sensors. I'm looking at hooking up the stock water temp sensor, aux fan temp switch, and my Autometer mech. temp gauge. How many ports are on the 190-195-210cc heads? I'm assuming they will have at least one on each head. Also on the price sheet, it shows #1256 Aux water ports exhaust side. Would this be an extra port on each head for a total of 2 per head?
Thanks for the input.
I think you'd better check with AFR, but if I remember correctly you have to pay for each sensor port. They come undrilled unless you specify them for each head.
Thanks for the replies guys. I've tried to get a hold of AFR with no luck so far. I looked farther down on the order sheet, and found where they drill and tap temp sensors for a small fee. You would think since a lot of these go on street cars that they would have temp ports pre drilled, and the option would be to delete them. Not the other way around. Oh well. Left a message with Diabolical, now just waiting for him to call me back so I can order them.
I have 210's, and had to drill my own. They go in the stock location, you do have to use a "short" sensor though, because the water jacket isn't quite as deep as stock (my stock Corvette water temperature sensor worked fine).
Finally got everything straighened out, and ordered my heads. I decided to go with the 210cc Race Ready heads milled to 70cc chambers to keep my compression at 9.0:1 for the supercharger. Those things are like monsters compared to my stock aluminum jobs. The Mini Ram should look great sitting on top of them.
Now on to the next step- finding a shop to dyno tune this beast and get me a new prom.
Currently they will be going on a 350 w/ a 6 psi blower. I'm looking for an 8 or 10 psi pulley for the blower thats why I went with the bigger heads. Plus down the road I may do a 400 stroker.
