Default 327 still possible today?

Just wondering if it is still possible to purchase the parts needed to make a 327 small block chevy, or a 302?

And im refering to new parts?

Sure! Assuming you have a 302 or 327 now, the only real unique rebuild part are the pistons and you can buy proper compression height 302 or 327 cast and forged pistons from Federal Mogul. These are the "TRW" OEM pistons for medium performance and SHP engines. There are probably other alternatives if you shop around.

Don't know for sure about crankshafts, but the aftermarket seems to be able to provide anything a user wants, but low volume parts can be a bit pricey.

I dare say anything is possible today. I hear someone is building a 454 small block.

I think I may still have a set of new 327 pistons. 30 over.

They are TRW or Speed Pro, I don't remember.
Floating OR bushed pins.
Haven't seen them in a while but vaguely remember having them form the 'good ol days'.

327's are tuffff!

My buddy and I were at a swap meet last year, we picked up a set of forged 302 pistons (can't remember how much). IMO 302s are awesome....just make sure you have the rear end gears to do it justice.

My buddy also just finished up building another 327. I would think that you could get just about anything you needed from a good aftermarket company. The downside is that the price may not be to your liking.

302 pistons are hard to come by, and are VERY expensive. A crank/rod/block combonation is now available in nearly EVERY configuration you can imagine. SCAT and others make pretty much all stock strokes, and custom cranks for any stroke, GM makes small and large bore/journal blocks, tall and short deck, pistons have to be custom forged for some combonations, though and that ain't that cheap for good ones.
