Default Reputable GM Engine Builders

Hey guys. I'm kind of new to this board, more frequently over at Stangnet for my '00 GT. However, I just picked up a 1957 Corvette that will be in need of a motor, as the 350 that's in it now is probably past its prime. I was thinking of either throwing in another 350, or maybe get a 383 stroker or something. Any ideas of what I can do would be appreciated, I know my options are just about limitless as long as it's about the size of a 350 block to fit. What companies are renowned for building up GM motors? I'm looking for between 350-400hp at the crank when everything's all said and done, don't want to get too crazy, that's what the Ford is for.

Thanks guys, look forward to the responses.

look into a GM crate motor as these are as cheap as rebuilds and you get a warranty. they have all ranges of hp. :chevy

:iagree: You can find some deals on GM prebuilts with all types of HP numbers for much less than piecing one together, with a 3yr warranty.
