Mistakes cost money, sure hope he has some :). Years ago I did the same thing but was more fortunate. Running my SS 396 Chevelle through the gears, I was speed shifting from 2nd to 3rd at about 6,000 rpm and hit first instead. Except for scaring the poop out of myself and a flat spot on the rear tires, no damage was done :).

That story just doesn't sound right. Wifey has an RSX-S and I went and checked. The difference in rpm's from 5th to2nd is 1500-1800. If he shifted at 7k, he'd still be near or under redline. Not to mention that 7k in 5th would be around 130 mph. Front wheel drive, drag or almost lock up the front tires at those speeds? He would probably balled the thing up. Nope, don't believe it. He probably was dropping the clutch at 7800, trying to break the tires loose.
Shoulda just drove a Vette!! :D

:skep:
I dont get it. So you are saying the RSX can go ~120 or so mph in second gear?
WTF?

Someone else on another board figured it out to be ~14,000 rpm by using the correct ratios...14000 rpm would kill just about any motor I can think of! :bb
