Searching for a crate engine...
Anyone have any suggestions?? I'm looking for a crate engine (probably long block) that meets the following requirements:
- Big-inch small block (406 - 427 or so) possibly based on a Motown or Dart block
- 8.x - 9 to 1 compression
- good quality insides (roller rockers, forged crank, etc.)
- I don't want a truck engine...
I'm going to add a twin-screw type supercharger, thus I want to avoid higher comp ratios. It seems like all the high power crate engines are getting power by squeezing up the compression. I know I can have a special one built, but I want to look at the possibility of getting one off the shelf first.
Has anyone seen something like this? Got any other suggesions?

try Auto Restorations. GrandsportC3 has been running one at the drags for a while and love it. Here is one of their auctions, but they'll build what you want. Dath is having that done.
