anybody else have this happen?
found parts of a half-round shaped ring on the magnetic drain plug today
turns out that it was part of the bearing retainer on the compcam's stainless roller rocker arm. (its the lip that holds the needle bearings inside) broke off kinda flush with the rocker arm, the needle bearings were all still inside and seem in good shape. looks like it only happened to this one side of one rocker arm. so far the others look OK.
Engine is/was running fine, so hopefully all I have to do is find the missing bit's and replace a rocker.

Are you refering to the C clips that hold in the center bearings on the rockers? if so I wonder if this is more of an apparent issue. Cause Crane used to do theirs the same way, but just recently they changed to a pressed in bearing. At least thats how mine showed up.

no it wasn't the spring clip, it was part of the bearing housing. from the looks of it the bearings are pressed into the rocker arm as an assembly. the outter sleeve of this (the part that the needle bearings ride on opposite the shaft) has a formed lip that keeps the bearings from ever getting to the C-clip (or spring clip) this lip is what broke apart. its strange. I think maybe it was damaged when pressed in originally (small crack), I looked the others over thoughly and they seem perfectly fine.
beats me.
I'm going to replace half of them and go up to 1.6 ratio on the intake (might as well up the power if possible) hopefully it was just a fluke.
