I think it says in the instructions not to. The heat enclosed in the glove box will prolly not be good. Having the thing mounted by the radiator is a little different cuz there is still ventilation around it. If it were me, I would not mount it in the box.
looks like I'll be giving a MSD box a try also........ and i plan on mounting it in place of my orignal TI box (left side, on fender well, next to radiator support)
I have 4 mds boxes mounted under by dash. While they don't like heat most are mounted in the engine compartment and on a hot day that has got to be hotter then mounted in any box.
norvalwilhelm,
I plan to have many many holes cut into the top of the glove box....to help any built up heat escape.
The engine compartment area was very cramped and it gets over 180 degrees in there. I've seen MSD boxes installed inside the car.
The glove box seems like an ideal location....since it's almost a straight shot with the wiring through the wiper trough to the distributor.
I will post if I run into problems with this location. Thanks all for the replies.
I agree with mounting near radiator for airflow, but I would go with the Crane HI6 myself, my opinion. I think MSD is all hype and seems to break down more frequently.
