centerforce kissup??
When I started my frame off resto, I had to change my clutch cause it was in bad shape so I ordered a centerforce II. I went on their website and entered my '78 corvette in their search and it returned me 2 options... one being a 10.5" clutch on 1 1/8"-10 shaft and the other being a 11" clutch on 1 1/8-26 shaft. Having a richmond 5 speed with 10 tooth shaft, I went with the first option. Unfortunatly it took a while until I installed it and now I notice that the whole clutch assembly is too small for my flywheel!! I never thought of that... I thought that the 168 tooth flywheel was standard in those years?? Now I'm pretty pissed cause I know they'll refuse an exchange cause its been too long I bought it (over a year) and looking at a few websites about flywheels, I only see 168 tooth flywheels for my specific application.... what gives?! I'll try calling centerforce monday and see what they have to say about this. Thanx for any help in the meantime.

Choices are a different flywheel. different clutch or it's not a big deal to get the flywheel drilled to accomodate the smaller clutch. Many aftermarket and ones have both patterns on them. Got a good machine shop nearby? Look closely at it and make sure it can handle the smaller disc. Most can fine.
For the price if machine work though, you could probably sell one you have and buy a new flywheel for less $$$. Is it a stock one or something trick?
I'd try Centerforce and see what they say. Maybe they are really into customer service this week! Good luck!
