How Streeable is this?!?
So how streetable of a motor would this be:
Stroked LT1 to 396cid beast. using forged crank, H-Beam rods and Forged Pistons, Top Seal Rings and TPIS/AFR 54cc Heads. 58mm throttle body 30lb injectors and Crane Hydralic Roller Cam Adv. Duration 296/304 Lift .539/.558 with 1.5:1 rockers, I'm gonna run 1.6:1 Harland Sharps so lift at the valve should be .575/.595
What I am not so sure of is the Cam selection...I'm not sure if it will make power in a realistic driving condition.. I think it may be a bit much but then again she is my weekend toy!
Yes I know I am a mad man but I gotta have more power
So tell me what you think should I go with this monster of a cam or should I go a bit more mild with some thing like the Comp Cams Hot LT1 Duration 230/244 lift with 1.6:1 rockers .544/.576. I had used the LPE 74211 cam before which was basically the LT4 hot cam with a revamped ramp and duration but it has become way to tame for me.

You and I could have a whole lot of fun

Yep I definitely think you're my kind of car guy.
Drive it like you stole it..... Better yet, like you rented it with insurance!
Hey good catch! I am still trying to figure that one out too. I want to run about 11:1 but the pistons I have found so far run me a little on the high side... I am waiting to get back in from sea to contact TPIS and ask if they have some 64cc heads. That would put me right in line for what I want but I might have to try tuning around the higher compression ratio, the bigger cam could help with that because the longer duration should lower the effective compression ratio felt in the cylinder. What I am Hoping is PIS/AFR has a 64cc head or maybe CNC-Motorsports can "deepen" the dish on my pistons. Thanks for pointing that out though. The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Actually I haven't had any problems with valve springs... and hey there MotorHead....that is a huge camshaft you're running. That's got to put your power band way up in the RPM range...not that it doesn't run good on the street, but wow!
That thing must sing like nothing else.
Well I guess I'll find out about it first hand because all the stuff is on order now
Looks like I'll be busy busy busy in August when I get back from my second med cruise this year :flag Drive it LIke You Stole it!

I have a rotating assembly with the 5.85 rod and Wiesco 20 cc dished pistons that would make about 10.1 c/r in a 415 ci 400 .030 over block with 64 cc heads.
With a manual tranny your Crane cam will work nice.
