Default LT4 Intake Upgrade Need Advice

What intakes are available that would be a great upgrade to The LT4 engine. The engine is stock-blue printed and balanced with long tube headers.
Any ideas? Thanks

Brian,
Thanks for the info. I had not even considered porting the stock unit. If I do this, should I install a 58mm TB or is it over kill?
Sorry for the delay to your response as we were out for the weekend.

a 58 is better for overall HP, but a 52 will make for better throttle responce.

If not going with a stoker, go with the 52.

BTW
DON'T port the intake unless your also doing a match on the heads.

One thing you should consider is waiting on the intake until you have the time/$ to port the heads also. I decided to have my intake ported when I swapped cams a couple years ago. The intake by itself doesn't buy you much since the head ports end up being the restriction. Intake by itself might be worth 10-15HP on a basically stock configuration. In hindsight, I wish I had saved up my money and done the heads since you have to rip off a lot of the same stuff anyway.
Just something to consider

Thanks for the info everyone. Per the SCCA SP rules the heads and intake were port matched only. The rules allow only one inch of porting into the manifold. Any other ideas? What about air filter. I cut open the top of the lid. Thanks, Rod

Ah, your in Street Prepared me too.

Open lid is cool, pull the MAF screen too, actually you can get a plastic housing for it, that not only flow better, but don't hold the heat.
I've heard bad 7 good about smooth bore ducts, they flow more, but only if they are stiff enough not to flex shut!

Have you changed the thermostat yet?
Wired the fans so they come on sooner?

Brian,
The pic of your car in your signiture could be ours as well. Great looking vette!
I've done all you've mentioned & then some. Looking for more ideas to increase preformance to make up for my aging driving skills. I'm open to ideas.

Thanks

Street Prepared is all about tires and suspension & alignment.
All the shims are out, I run Hal QA1's because I also drive it on the street. I've got the Z51 swaybars, but I've got the soft base suspension springs.
Most are running aftermarket spings that are twice as stiff as Z07's

There's more about this in the racing section.

The suspension is:
VBP extrme springs f&r
delrin bushings where allowed with offset lower fronts, advance design 2-way adj shocks, drilled & slotted rotrs-for weight savings, 17X12" rear wheels and 18X12" fronts with 335X17 and 305X18 Hoosiers.
Fans turn on with key on, lower temp thermostat, adj fuel regulator, long tube headers with X pipe, hurst shfiter, rollbar, hardbar crossbar, sprare tire delete, aluminum flywheel and light clutch. I'm sure I forgot something. I need more seat time and always more power- right?
If you see anything elase I need or to do please let me know.
Thanks
