Default Head Replacement

I am looking to buy replacement heads for my small block, and need to know how to select the intake runner volume.
Are smaller intake runner volumes better for low-end torque and larger runners better for high RPM'S?

Any suggestions for a mostly street driven vehicle with a Comp Cam with 234@.50 duration.

Thanks for the help.

Also, it you want to do some more reading, I suggest John Lingefelter's How to Build a Small Block Chevy. Great book. You may be able to find a used copy on Ebay.
