Dont know...

I too would like to hear the answer to this question!

I read that the Main cap bolts are an "Undersized GH3 Tap" but I myself... have never laid hands on one of them!

I dont think I'd run a super sharp brand new tap into any of the threads on an engine... need all the material available to hold onto the threads!

7/16 x 14 works for the cylinder head bolts.

I have a full set of bottoming taps. Some Bottoming Taps are expensive but well worth it... I use them quite often. Three piece basic set from Snap-on is 14 bucks. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog Additional taps run 5 to 7 bucks.
