Hey guys... I've been fooling around with polishing a bit, I'm wondering how much cleaning up should be done on oil drainbacks and such?
Maybe polishing the lifter valley, and the area around the timing chain! Probably just because I've seen what a nice finsih can look like and now raw casting isnt "Purty."

What should I do? Where should I focus?
Never bothered but if grinding is too slow many shops will paint the lifter valley with all kinds of stuff from plain Jane enamal to electric motor armature paint/sealer/insulator. Some will enlarge and smooth the oil drains and install screens too. Another trick is magnets epoxed in the floor of valley to catch the iron pieces of ur vlv train falling apart.
Having never done this myself i would recommend the D. Vizard book on Buget Building sb Chevys - lots great info for only $20. Or maybe Mr. Panchop will share with us how long it took to make his BB so beautiful.
As for outside cosmetics - do whatever will pushes ur pistons.

PANCHOP..... You just defined that term "Over The Top"..
Hmmm maybe that is also what "they" mean when they say "Off The Hook" cause you'd have to leave your phone off the hook a longggggggggggggggggggggggg time to do all 'dat'. Couldn't be bothered with folks calling and disturbing 'yo' work.
