Disappointment

Saw a new camaro SS at the super chevy show today. Best of the 3 runs was 13.89 at 105.8

This was also the first time I got to really get a good look at one in person. From the back they look great but the front end is the size of a chrysler 300s

I always liked camaros but this generation is a brick with wheels.

Must have been the V6 version right?

i bet the SS would have been a different story lol

It was the 6 speed SS.

I think there will be some very upset people when they realize their car isn't as fast as they thought.

its faster than that. way faster. maybe they just need to buy an automatic because themselves are not as good as theyd hoped.

Certainly hope so.

I was all exited finally being able to get a good look at the new camaro then see one go down the track. Only to see a time like that.

they are not as fast as they should be for 426 hp but the damn 3900 lbs. One has ran 12.9 @ 111 or something like that so there is more out of them to come.

the only problem there is the ls1 camaros actually some people hit 12.9 in those as well, but i think at 108 or so

dont knock on the car because the driver cant drive. on factory tire i drove a friends SS to a best of 13.09@ 107, and with some MT drag radials a best of 12.81@109.

the car didnt shimmy much on the dump. but the the IRS rear is really going to hurt track times down the road.

At least my intake/catback C5 is still faster. 12.79@112 Not by much though :-( I bet the one OP is talking about was an L99 A6 car. Most of the 6-speeds are traping faster than that.
