Patrick, I may be in left field here, but are you sure it's not your old name / password cookie which is preventing you from nuking the post? I suppose it could be a preference setting Troy has set up for this forum which doesn't allow it. Usually (in the other sections C3 & C4) if you edit the first post and select delete it lets you nuke the thread if it's your own post and you've got the password right. Curious.... ~Juliet

We had to turn off the ability to delete your own posts as it was causing an error in the post counts. It seems that if you made a post and then deleted it multiple times the post count would actually go negative!

There is also a theory that you shouldn't be able to delete the first post in a thread since the conversation may have taken off after that and you're deleting the entire thread.
